I landed a fix for this in r34953.  Niko, can you please double-check that the
fix I made doesn't invalidate the test?

The hit-testing on Tiger for the ellipse seems to be off by one pixel --
changing the X coordinate to 49 leads to the test passing, while 50 fails.  I
went with 45 just to be nice and safe.
