"Bus error" is indicative of an error in the Subversion client you are using. 
There's nothing we can do about that.  The second command you tried is expected
to fail as we do not use svn:// for accessing our repository.  If you continue
to receive the "Bus error" I would suggest you seek help on a
Subversion-related list as there is little we can do to work around such a bug.
