This site is used by thousands of users (education). We use a proxy
authenticating network. When within this network and attempting to use any of
our Admin sites (as above) Safari ALWAYS quits. 
If I go to the same sites from home or anywhere outside the network, it works
fine.

I have submitted the report on several occasions. This webkit did not fix this
problem, and incidently, Safari 3 works fine in OS 10.4, this problem did not
occur.
