Not entirely yet. Due to the need to refactor the code, this patch will have to
be updated when the refactoring of the win32 plug-in code to be shared, to use
the shared implementation for most things.

The "original author" is in the code's license block, and as I said before, in
comment 34, the origin of the code will also be noted in the ChangeLog when it
gets written (after all the refactoring work).
