Logging into popular courseware software WebCT Vista (written and distributed
by Blackboard) closes the WebKit window in which it was loaded. 

WebCT Vista is the defacto standard in higher education courseware and used by
255,000 students and 30,000 faculty in the State of Georgia alone.

You can test this phenomenon by 
(1) Going to http://vista.kennesaw.edu/ 
(2) Click "Log In"
(3) Enter any username or password
and (4) Click "OK"
