The problem is only happening with Tiger. I couldn't re-create the drawing
problem with Safari or Webkit on Leopard, but when I went to my older
Powerbook, which is running Tiger, the re-draw problem re-occurred. 

The OS is set to 10.4. I've made a static version of the page for testing at
http://burningbird.net/svgerror2/burningbird.net/. The page is currently set to
serve XHTML.
