Text looses selection while drag-select in GMail chat windows

1.  Open a gmail chat window to someone
2.  send enough messages that the log starts to scroll
3.  Start selecting text in the transcript and drag upwards so that the scroll
area should autoscroll to continue selecting text.
4.  WebKit loses selection, as the area starts to scroll.  Firefox does not.

I've not tried spoofing as Firefox to see if this is related to the javascript
they send down to WebKit.
