Ok so back on topic, I've found a page which displays my problem from the
initial bug report very clearly.

Refresh that page in Gecko and everything reloads very smoothly and in place.
Refresh it in the latest nightly (and other versions of Safari) and the page
"flashes" a white page and seems to load/draw images again before showing the
content. I would advise refreshing a few times to really get an idea of the
difference between them. I hope this illustrates the problem clearly and helps
this get reduced.
