Anantha, can you please check which plugins are installed?  Under the Help
menu, choose Installed Plugins.  Look through the list to find which plugin is
claiming "application/x-oleobject".  I suspect that plugin will be a
Firefox-specific plugin that was written to allow Firefox to support ActiveX. 
Please report back with what you find.
