Using Safari 3.0.3 Beta (latest release from Apple's Software Update), OS X
10.4.10. 
I am running nightly build # 26620

My friend who verified that this bug is reproducible on other machines is
running the same nightly build as I am on the same release of Safari. 

This bug does not occur with http://reader.google.com , only with
https://reader.google.com . 

Hope I've covered all the bases :-/
