https://reader.google.com reports that it cannot verify the identity of
reader.google.com. If I click "continue", it directs me to www.google.com,
which is not Google Reader. 

Bug also occurs in latest build of Leopard, OS X 10.5.
Sorry I can't offer any more technical information, but I'm not a web developer
so I don't have the faintest clue what you would be interested in knowing :(
