The "big" issue with incompatible ranges was fixed by Oliver Hunt in r21728. I
believe (but haven't yet verified) that this should fix the crash with Kotoeri,
but not with the attached test case. If so, we probably just need to add a null
check for extra safety now.

Also, Oliver's fix did not include a test case; the attached one can be
extended to check that correct text comes out of NSTextInput accessors.
