Confirmed with a locally-built debug build of WebKit r19188 with Safari 2.0.4
(419.3) on Mac OS X 10.4.8 (8L127).

Interestingly, shipping Safari alone behaves the same way, so this is not a
regression.  This works as expected on Firefox 2.0.0.1 and Opera 9.10.
