This issue appears to no longer occur. I tested it both in shipping Safari and
ToT, and in both cases the search box works as expected. It could have been an
issue with the site's JS code specific to Safari, it's hard to tell. But given
that the issue no longer occurs there really isn't anywhere for this bug to go.
