Summary: Middle-clicking a link does not override target=_top
           Product: WebKit
           Version: 420+ (nightly)
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.4
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: New Bugs
        AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
        ReportedBy: paul at hiddenfortress.net

It is standard across web browsers that middle-clicking a link signifies the
user's intent to open that link in a new tab. Safari, Camino, Firefox, and
Opera all exhibit this behaviour. However, in the new Webkit nightly, if a link
has the target attribute "_top", the link will be errantly opened in a new
window even when middle-clicked.

This behaviour seems to be incorrect.

As an aside, it would be *really* nice to have a preference that forced all
target=_top links to open in new tabs. A browser's window behaviour should
remain in the user's control.
