Updated patch (corrected most coding style issues)

I did not paid enough attention to coding style issues. It is now corrected for
most of them I hope.

For the SQL versus files issue, the current implementation works with files so
we can start with that and see what others think about this issue. FWIW I would
tend to agree with Alp on that point as other applications could use our cookie
implementation to use the cookie file.
