This only works in Firefox because it uses a different QuickTime plug-in -
temporarily removing QuickTime Plugin.webplugin from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
resolves the problem for Safari, too.
Apparently, QuickTime Plugin.webplugin doesn't use WebKit for URL loading, so
the bug is not in open source WebKit, closing as INVALID. Please file it via
<http://bugreport.apple.com> for Apple engineers to take a look (free
registration required).
