Summary: WebKit could benifit from a JavaScript profiler
Product: WebKit
Version: 420+ (nightly)
Platform: Macintosh
OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.4
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P4
Component: Tools
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at opendarwin.org

WebKit could benifit from a JavaScript profiler
bdash and I just spent a while talking about JS/Web tools that we'd like to see
to better support web developers using Safari/WebKit. One which came out of
that discussion was a JavaScript profiler.
This would ideally be a shark-like profiler, which could tell you exactly where
you were spending all of your time in JavaScript code. Shark even offers
suggestions as to how to improve your code, this could too.
This tool might be part of a larger WebKit IDE, or it might be separate.
This bug serves to facilitate discussion surrounding the creation of such a
tool.
