Support for HTML editing in WebKit nightly build is vastly improved compared to
the shipping version of Safari. The situation with Gmail is being tracked by
bug 9638. In both sites that you mentioned, the sites don't offer the rich
editing interface to WebKit users (perhaps because they are unaware of WebKit's
improved editing support; see bug 9639), so you need to spoof as Firefox, for
example, in order to even be able to tell if there are any bugs or
incompatibilities. Specific, unique bug reports are alwyas welcome, especially
if they come with test cases.
