Testcase crash report

Attached a crash report for the test case. It looks pretty similar to the
reporter's crash report. (They're about as similar as my and the reporter's
crash report on the original page (checked with FileMerge.app), but I don't
know what to look for.)

I cleaned the font caches with Font Finagler, but the crash remains. Any other
relevant maintenance I should try?

If I change default Java runtime for applets in Java Preferences to 1.4.2, I
don't get any crashes.
