I noticed a similar problem with Amazon.com in Bug 9103 (see Bug 9103 Comment
#1).  It turns out that the wrong method was being called and a user agent of
"CFNetwork/129.16" was being sent in the redirect.

Hopefully Amazon.com is not sniffing the user agent when doing this.

It would probably be helpful to capture packet traces of the network traffic in
this case (using tcpdump or Ethereal or a similar product) to analyze.
