Summary: Cannot view .svg file dropped from Finder onto Webkit
           Product: WebKit
           Version: 420+ (nightly)
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.4
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P4
         Component: SVG
        AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at opendarwin.org
        ReportedBy: pfurbacher at mac.com

Steps
1. Locate .svg file in Finder
2. Open WebKit/Safari
3. Drag .svg file from Finder window into WebKit/Safari window

Expected: Drag-cursor changes to green + indicating valid drop region; when
dropped, SVG file is rendered.
Firefox 1.5 accepts this kind of drag-drop operation, although if the SVG image
is too large for viewport, scrollbars do not appear.

Result: Drag-cursor does not change; no drop allowed; SVG is not rendered by
WebKit/Safari.

Question: Is it the intent of the SVG project designers to limit SVG viewing to
SVG which is embedded in HTML? Or should Safari be able to render SVG files
that are pointed to by links in a Web page, or when dropped onto the viewer
canvas? I'd be disappointed if it were only the case where SVG embedded in
HTML is the only support for SVG.
