I'm still experiencing this problem, running the latest Nightly of
WebKit. The problem does not occur using Safari (417.8). Apart from
WebKit, Safari, and the Finder, the only other program running is
Quicksilver (β48). I attach a list of all processes running on my system,
in case this is of use to you.

Note that the problem occurrs whether I am running both Safari and
Webkit at the same time, or just WebKit on its own.

The main point to note is that almost none of the links work, ie. none
of the ones to my messages, contacts etc. On the other hand, links to
pages like Privacy Policy and Terms of Use work, and the page
refreshes correctly, reflecting drafts of emails which I am working on if
Safari.
Likewise, the tips at the bottom of the page are changing every so often.
Also, the little yellow hovering notes are popping up as I move my mouse
over my emails, giving, for example thefull subject of an email where
the column is too narrow to contain it.

I've just tried switching to HTML mode in Google Mail, and it works
fine. Switching back to Standard mode again, and the problem returns.

The only other factor I can think of that could potenitally be of note
is the age of my machine: I am using a 400MHz iMac G3.
