Summary: world leaks: 1 WebBridge object, 1 JavaScript
interpreter
Product: WebKit
Version: 420+ (nightly)
Platform: Macintosh
URL: several pages
OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.4
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: JavaScript
AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at opendarwin.org
ReportedBy: dvirasoro at mac.com
(this was originally reported in bug 7307 together with another bug, so as
suggested here it is its own bug report)
Certain webpages cause 2 world leaks: 1 WebBridge object, 1 JavaScript
interpreter. It does not always occur so it may be necessary to repeat the
procedure a few times to replicate it. However when it does it is always those
two leaks.
I have found this with many different webpages. However so far I have only been
able to reduce it to these two single webpages:
http://animeclick.nipogames.com/index.php
http://www.macworld.com/2005/01/features/preventmacdisasters/index.php
In the future I hope I can reduce it to other webpages.
To replicate it:
1-Start Safari, and close any Safari window (no leaks are reported)
2-Go to one of these webpages
3-When it has finished loading the page, close the window
4-If the leak is not reported, try again (go back to step 2) a few times
(I am currently using the latest webkit, from Feb 19th, and OS X 10.4.4)
In the next days I will try to reduce it futher.
