Summary: RFE: Add integrated WYSIWYG rich-text editing component
           Product: WebKit
           Version: 417.x
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.0
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: HTML Editing
        AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at opendarwin.org
        ReportedBy: joelwnelson at gmail.com

[[Reporter's note: I am quite positive this must already be in the database,
but five searches using different terms each time yielded no exact matches]]

WebKit needs to have a built-in, native rich-text editing component that
websites such as blog and e-mail editors can use for composing rich text/HTML
WYSIWYG content. Webmail sites such as Gmail and Yahoo rely on built-in
rich-text editing capabilities in the web browser, and since WebKit/Safari has
no built-in editor, neither of those webmail sites offers rich-text editing to
Safari users. Users that want or require rich-text editing have to use an
alternative browser such as Camino or Firefox.

Consider the open-source "MIDAS" rich-text editing component that is used in
the browsers released by the Mozilla Foundation/Mozilla Corporation; perhaps
something similar could be done for Safari?
