Just adding my own 2 cents, we're what appears to be the same behavior. Using
Firefox and IE, uploads work like a charm. Using Safari, they hang
intermittently. We've done some network traces and it looks as though the
connection is being dropped, or severed. It is definitely some setting in our
network, and this did not used to happen, so we are hunting and hunting to
discover what the setting is. In the meantime, it appears as though there is
some obscure condition that chokes up Safari, but not the other browsers.

If/when we figure out what is up, I'll post more information. Just wanted to
chime in and say "me, too!"
