This response does contain a minor anomaly (a large amount of carriage returns
before the beginning of HTML), but it shouldn't affect anything AFAIK. Besides,
I get the same response from this server, but I don't see the same problem.
Responses from other servers mentioned don't seem to have anything in common.

The "right" answer here might be that this problem simply cannot be in the
open-source WebKit (it's a lower-level closed source framework that decides on
MIME types), and should thus be reported via <http://bugreport.apple.com>, but
I'm not closing it yet - perhaps, someone will have an idea that would result
in a better new report...

My best guess at this point is that some 3rd party add-on may be involved
(especially considering bug 7041 that you have filed earlier). Or even hardware
problems like bad RAM - sorry, but this indeed looks quite unusual.
