OK I will try to give you more details... First I guess I didn't remember that
this behavior (search the webpage when typing and no text field active) was not
native to Safari. The only thing that I have installed is Stand I think, so I
removed it. I also downloaded the latest nightly but no change, same behavior
when I do the following:
- open Webkit.app
- click on my wikipedia bookmark
- try to type something in their search field on the left
I can see that instead of typing in the text field, it's performing a text
search inside the webpage... If I type "O", "O" will be highlighted on the
webpage.
Something else that I noticed was bothering me. I'm running Shapeshifter to
change the Mac OS X theme and I noticed that under the search field mentioned
earlier, the buttons "Go" and "Search" did not appear the same with Safari and
Webkit. Here is a screenshot:

However, disabling Shapeshifter and performing the same routine yields the same
result but maybe it will give you a hint to what's happening...
That's all I can think of right now, hopefully this will help a little bit...
