           Summary: handle http://domain/
           Product: WebKit
           Version: 420+ (nightly)
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.0
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Page Loading
        AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at opendarwin.org
        ReportedBy: alex at avannaproductions.com

I've often noticed (due to regular usage of a finicky wifi hotspot) that when a
site fails to load upon typing the domain shorthand (like "google"), I end up
with a "Safari cannot find the server" error and an url in the format
"http://google/". If I try again, I cannot just retry "http://google/" as it
left me, because Safari does not translate this to "http://www.google.com" as
it does when typing "google".

My suggestion is that Safari handle "http://google/" or "http://google" the
same way it would with "google" and therefore guess the right site, rather than
refusing to make any attempt.
