You could a check to makefiles, so that they are regenerated when they are
older than the source bakefiles -- then this step would be manual only once.
Obviously, this wouldn't work for project files, the best thing you can hope
for here is a check in prebuild step that causes an error if the project file
is older than the bakefiles.
