Summary: Safari crashes when trying to do digest authentication
           Product: WebKit
           Version: 417.x
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: WebKit Misc.
        AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at opendarwin.org
        ReportedBy: mjb at gwava.com

I am a developer, on a PC, writing a web based program. I used the Safari VNC
compatibility test ( in short a feller has provided VNC access to a box) to
look at how our pages do in Safari (we've certainly TRIED to be standards
based!)

Anyway, I log into http://64.142.36.76:49282
and click login. This is supposed to pop up an HTTP authentication prompt (we
use digest authentication). Instead, it crashes to desktop.

Safari 2.0.3 (build 417.9.2)

Note I do NOT have a mac of my own, so I cannot packet trace as the crash
occurs. Also this is my personal computer, and the web server aint always up
(though you are welcome to try the link - it's a static ip)

options
1. I can arrange with a member of the team to have the server up at a specific
date/time (I'm PST by the way)
2. I can packet sniff from my windows box just to see a successful
authentication box show up from Opera8/Opera9/IE6/Firefox1.0.6/Firefox 1.5 (all
of which work)
