Eric, in regards to distributing copies of testing tools I think Spinneret is
very similar to SVG DrawTest in that regard.  An "sfx archive" is a
self-extracting executable containing the necessary dependencies to run
Spinneret -- apparently Firefox on Windows uses something similar.

At the very least this script could be useful to hook into the buildbot for a
similar use as the OS X one in bug 8188 :-)
