I too just spent about 5 hous trying to get to the bottom of this. Using rails
& lighttpd and trying to upload an image file. Safari sends a partial request
to the server (I can see it send the packet in tcpdump) but the server isn't
seeing the whole request and everything seems to time out. Safari thinks the
server is stalled and the server never formally accepts the request. The latest
webkit 4/2/06 has this issue.
