I incorporated Dave's clipping suggestion.

Based on Dave's comment that the continuation code currently has a bug and that
I proceed w/ his original instructions, I've removed my specialized
continuation() handling code from RenderBlock.	The code, in this patch, should
match with Dave's recommendations in comment #25.
