It seems to me that a statusBar is usually not existing anymore in a browser. - Especially if it's a mobile device's browser.
Should we simply rename this thing to "statusMessageChanged"?
I would not remove it completely, since it is a quite simple and well settled piece of API.

Right, it's not necessarily a status bar anymore, although as a UI element it certainly is present in desktop browser (it looks like a
"status strip" in Chrome :)

statusMessageChanged sounds good to me. Should there also be a statusMessage property? I know this keeps coming back ;)

Any opinions?
