This bug requires better investigation and unfortunately the reduction
is not so reduced. :-(

But it looks like a real regression, as the problem happens with a
recent QtWebKit even when run inside Qt-4.7 (it doesn't happen with
QtWebKit-2.0 which is part of Qt-4.7, even when using Qt-4.8).

BTW, I think the problem is not the quoting of the response. The
problem is the error in the ajax call: if you call
alert(jqXHR.responseText) on the case of success, you'll see the same
quotes.
