Description



As a technical lead, you will architect innovative solutions to run third party applications on TiVo platforms while playing a hands-on development role. You will work on the cutting edge WebKit engine that will power our next generation TiVo products and all the capabilities to run HTML5 media rich third party applications. You'll interact with the entire system - from web technologies at the top, down to security, network, and graphics issues in the operating system. Your technical, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills will be key.
Here is what you'll get to do:

  *   Design and develop a framework to run third party applications on TiVo Platforms.
  *   Integrate, develop and maintain all aspects of WebKit.
  *   Design and develop API as needed to support third party apps.
  *   Guide the team towards adoption of industry best practice in software development.
Here is what you'll need to be successful:

  *   12+ years of relevant software development experience
  *   Experience as a technical lead role on a large team of developers
  *   Solid understanding of the full lifecycle development process including understanding business and functional requirements, developing detailed technical designs, and implementing testable solutions
  *   Excellent C++ and C programming skills
  *   Strong object oriented design and analysis skills
  *   Experience in secure network programming and distributed systems
  *   Experience developing software for performance, memory, and power-limited devices
  *   Detailed understanding of data structures and algorithms
  *   Detailed knowledge of Linux OS
  *   Detailed knowledge of Unix/Linux software development tools
  *   Good understanding of multithreading and interprocess communication
  *   Excellent debugging skills
  *   Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  *   Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  *   Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills
  *   Self-motivated and results oriented
  *   Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short time
  *   Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  *   Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience
Not required, but nice to have:

  *   Familiarity with WebKit
  *   Experience with video streaming technologies such as H.264, HLS, Smooth Streaming, Play Ready, etc.
  *   Familiarity with web standards such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DOM
  *   Familiarity with HTML5 application development
  *   Experience with open source software development
