Position Summary

The Web Platform group is improving the Web as a platform for applications by participating to the development of solutions that make it easier for people to create, build and deploy Web content. The group focuses on several axis:

 *   Contribution to new Web standards in the areas of cinematic visual effects, graphical foundation and adaptive magazine style layouts.
 *   Contribution to open source projects such as the WebKit browser engine.
 *   Leading and contributing to the Cordova project (the open source basis for PhoneGap), which allows developers to create native applications using their JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 skills
 *   Contributing to the Chromium Embedded Framework, the core component that Adobe tools use as a "Web Design Surface".
 *   In addition,  the Web Platform's creative team constantly uses and evaluates the technologies created by the group to create demonstrations, provide feedback and validate new work.
Responsibilities

 *   We are looking for a senior technical leader with a passion for advancing the functionality of the Web as a platform.
 *   The successful candidate will work with Web developers, standards participants, partners and product teams to identify and define features that improve web application development.
 *   The successful candidate will participate to the development of the group's vision and direction and collaborate with the engineering, product and program management teams to develop actionable plans.
 *   The candidate will also be a representative of the team in international conferences and meetings, and develop strong connections with the communities the group contributes to.
Requirements

 *   Minimum of a MSCS or a BSCS and solid experience with native development, desktop and mobile development, Web technologies and prior exposure to standards involvement.
 *   8+ years of application development, including both Web Application Development (HTML, JS, CSS, etc).
 *   5+ years of native client-side development (C/C++)
 *   Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
 *   Track record of speaking at conferences and events
 *   Possess a sense of accountability in meeting commitments and expectations.
 *   Experience working on open source projects.
 *   Experience with participation or involvement with standard bodies (ideally W3C)
Ideal

 *   Deep experience with WebKit and/or FireFox.
 *   Experience creating developer tools like debuggers and profilers.
 *   Experience creative tools such as a graphical authoring package.
