Software Engineer - WebKit Development

Position Summary

Sony Computer Entertainment is using WebKit for video services and 
applications on it's console platforms. The team has launched a number of 
services in conjunction with partners and is seeking to expand the work 
porting and optimising WebKit on consoles to improve the experience for 
all it's partners services. The work includes feature development, porting 
and optimisation on WebKit and components. The group works closely with a 
number of partners and internal teams implementing web applications to 
identify and prioritise WebKit functionality support.

Responsibilities
·       Development and testing of required WebKit features and components 
within the framework on PlayStation®3, PlayStation®Vita and future 
hardware.
·       Building and updating framework tests and documentation.
·       Keeping implementation on target to meet a tight schedule.
·       Integrating with other application components being designed and 
implemented on parallel schedules.
·       Working closely with other technology teams responsible for 
middleware components within the framework such as video playback.

Skills/Experience
The following skills are required for the role:

·       Good knowledge in C/C++ with at least 2 years of experience.
·       Good knowledge of Web Application Development (HTML, JS, CSS, etc)
·       Good knowledge and experience writing test units used for 
validating and regression testing of software components.
·       Ability to work to strict deadlines without direct supervision.
·       Knowledge of open source projects, development processes and 
practices. 

The following skills are not required for the role, but would be seen as 
highly advantageous:

·       Experience working with WebKit
·       Knowledge of PlayStation®3 or PS Vita programming.
·       Experience with source code revision control (git and Perforce 
preferred).
·       Experience of programming on game consoles or other 
real-time/embedded platforms.
Good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with 
differing groups both inside and outside of the company.
