you are tying to cross-compile WebKit aren't you ?
 if yes then you have to check your PKG_CONFIG_PATH envirement
varible and set it to point to your target "pkgconfig" directory
which contains the correct "*.pc" files.
also don't forget to set correctly the "pkg-config" to point to your
target "pkg-config" not to the host one.

if you are not cross-compiling webkit, than why the libs are under "/root"
why not using the "usr/lib" ones?
