there is no porting required.

Yes, it is a toolchain problem. Your options include upgrading your toolchain,
filing a bug at your  toolchain vendor, use a prepackaged libwebkitgtk for
armv5 (e.g. see angstrom linux distribution),  recompile the linker and see 
where it is crashing.
