IRC channels, I think that in general things (like compliling) are
getting done on native ARM architecture as it is readily available to
them and no significant time advantage has been seen for
cross-compliling versus compliling on ARM hw itself.

I hope that helps a little, maybe one of the OLPC or fedora devs would
know a lot more. Some have posted on this list before, but ping me
privately and I can put you in touch with them if you get no better
answer.
