A patch for this bug has been approved and will land soon. It uses a feature
guarded by OPENTYPE_VERTICAL, which has been enabled by default on all ports
using Freetype (GTK+ and EFL).
The good news is that vertical texts will be fixed on EFL, the bad news is
that some layout tests will need to be rebaselined :(

Since I have limited experience on the EFL port, I thought it would be
better to ask on the mailing list for a volunteer to help on this.
