[webkit-dev] about WebKit Gif decoder

Hi all,

I noticed that webKit implements its own Gif decoder and doesn't use the
extrenal library libgif.

can any body explain me why? is that for performance reasons? i.e the WebKit
current decoder is faster than the giflib one?
