Hello,

I'm Frederico Caldeira Knabben, the main developer of the FCKeditor online
editor (http://www.fckeditor.net).

Yesterday I started my first contacts with Safari developers and exchanged
some words with MacDome.

I've been contacted by a number of Safari users and companies that are very
interested in the compatibility of FCKeditor with Safari. Today it is
compatible with IE and Firefox (Gecko). I've already been contact by Opera
developers and they are very interested on making it compatible with it too.

I'm not an Apple user, so I needed a testing machine to work with. I was
really impressed that in only 2 days I was able to raise funds to buy an
iBook ($1300) from donations! So it reflects how the community wants that.

So I'm here to provide my complete availability on facing this challenge and
provide Safari compatibility. I've already started working on it, but I got
problems in my first moves. So it made me understand that that job will not
be as easy as it seams.

FCKeditor is an extensive, complex and interesting JavaScript application
that would be a nice "stress test" to Safari (as said yesterday to MacDome).
So, I'm ready to start sending reports about every single problem I'm having
with it.

The fact is that I have to surpass a problem to find another, and I'm now
blocked in an issue. So if possible, I would like to have a channel where I
could dynamically exchange my experiences with you, the Safari developers.

For example, for now the problem I've just mentioned is well described in
the following bug report:
http://bugzilla.opendarwin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4403

Let me know your thoughts about it and about how to proceed to have success
with this development. It is an important thing for my project, but it is
also surely a big step for Safari, mainly on the corporate environment.

It would be really nice to have some words from the Safari developers group
about their interest on it.

Thanks in advance. Best regards,
FredCK
