Hello EWebKit team, I'm happy to announce to release ewebkit-1.18 along with efl-1.18. 1. Bump Ubuntu version to 15.10 to 16.04

Hello, Although I don't know how many people are interested in this mail, I'd like to notify to bump our base Ubuntu version from 15.10 to 16.04. I couldn't bump base Ubuntu version lately because there was layout test problem on 16.04. However I succeed to run layout test on 16.04, and looks like now is time to bump our base Ubuntu version. If there is any objection to bump, please let me know. If not, I'm going to bump Ubuntu on EFL bots. WK2 C APIs only for Coordinated Graphics (UI side compositor)

Hi, Long time ago, EFL port started to use WK2 C API internally for almost functionalities (Bug 108623 <https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108623> ). Some WK2 C APIs are added only for the requirements of Coordinated Graphics. Now, only EFL port uses Coordinated Graphics with UI side compositor and there are still many direct dependencies between ewk APIs and internal structures without improving, since QT and nix port leave. I think that it does not have any benefits now and just makes it difficult to improve Coordinated Graphics(UI side compositor). If nobody object, I want to simplify the EFL port by bypassing unnecessary WK2 C APIs like GTK port and the past EFL port. EFL buildbot has some problems

Hello, Recently EFL buildbot has some problems. All layout tests are broken and even one of build bot machines has network problem. I'm going to do my best to restore all problems. So EFL bot looks like have problem during the upcoming days. Gyuyoung.

Hello EFL folks, Recently some patches only can be built in gcc version 4.9 or later. For example AsyncTask.h uses lambdas function supported from gcc 4.9 ver. AsyncTaskImpl(T* callee, void (T::*method)(Arguments...), Arguments&&... arguments) { m_taskFunction = [callee, method, arguments...] { (callee->*method)(arguments...); }; } If there is no object to bump Ubuntu version, I'm going to upgrade it on EFL buildbot and ews. Hello Martin, I and Ossy have maintained EFL bots and EWS so far. Recently WebGL feature has been broken on EFL port since we bumped EFL version to 1.11.2. That's why we skipped to run WebGL tests on EFL layout test. - https://trac.webkit.org/changeset/167345. But, unfortunately I'm not sure when we can fix it for EFL port. Thus I agree to disable the accelerated compositing and skip related tests in order not to block your work. If any EFL folks know better solution for now, please let us know. Gyuyoung. Consider to drop EFL 1.7 support from ewebkit

Hi, All As you may know, EFL 1.12 will be released a few days later. I don't think that EFL developers are still using 1.7. So, what do you think about dropping 1.7 support from ewebkit. If nobody objects it, I will make the patch. Best Regards, Ryuan Choi

About ewk_context_url_scheme_register()

Hello, I was trying to use this ewk2 API but I can't get it working ewk_context_url_scheme_register() In fact it seems that this API registers a new scheme but the callback is never triggered. There is a related API test called EWK2ContextTest.ewk_context_url_scheme_register The test is claiming to be successful but it is in fact disabled I have to say the same kind of API is working on WebKitGTK so I guess it is not a big deal If you can provide any feedback? Is it known issue? How it can be fixed? Any direction to handle the investigation? Last but not least I wonder if it would be possible then to use my custom scheme trough JavaScript XMLHttpRequest. I know this is devious and also a kind of security concern breaking the Same Origin Policy but this is something I need anyway Thanks, Pascal

We can run layout test without SHARED_CORE=ON !

Hi efl folks, Finally we don't need to use SHARED_CORE=ON when running layout test. Thanks to ryuan's patch, EFL port is being built on developer mode by default. http://trac.webkit.org/changeset/172894 Under developer mode, libewebkit2.so contains all symbols though, it is not harmful for developer.
