Note that this is already supported (with no source changes) on Mac OS X via the editing delegate method -webView:shouldChangeSelectedDOMRange:toDOMRange:affinity:stillSelecting:. Perhaps Qt WebKit is missing an equivalent to that delegate interface (a cursory look in EditorClientQt.cpp suggest that it is).
