I believe this question belongs here. If not, please direct me somewhere else that may be more appropriate. I'm using an Android app, that MAY use WebKit for it's interactions. Regardless, the app owners aren't particularly helpful, and suggested this is an "Android", or perhaps "GBoard" issue. I found my way to this mailing list via Edge open-source licensing acknowledgements. This app suggests my user ID (redacted here), and an old password. I don't want this information saved, and I'd like to prevent it from being suggested. It's not saved in Edge passwords, nor GBoard storage, not app cache or storage. Thanks in advance to any insight you can provide, either from a WebKit vantage point, or other developer's experience. If there is a programmatic control to prevent this behavior, I will gladly forward necessary changes to the cognizant app developers. Sent from AT&T Yahoo Mail on Android

Collaborating on standards-positions

Heya, I would like to propose a lightweight process so we can jointly arrive on position: labels on https://github.com/WebKit/standards-positions that can then be considered somewhat final, modulo new information coming to light. Agreeing on these positions as a community is important as they are meant to be representative of all of us. This process is not meant to stop anyone from commenting on an issue. Please do continue to give your frank feedback as you have done thus far. Let me also echo Maciej’s Slack comments here encouraging everyone to add the relevant topic:, venue:, from:, and concerns: labels. For concerns: labels it would be good if you also added an explanatory comment. (If you cannot add labels to issues please reach out to me privately.) The process is fairly straightforward: 1. Leave a comment with your suggested position: label, rationale (as needed), and a deadline for further feedback that’s at least 7 days in the future. Depending on the time of year or complexity of the item under review you might want to prolong this. 2. After the deadline has passed, if there were no requests for more time, no objections, and ideally you had some support through thumbs up or comments with additional context, your suggested position: label will be added. Style guide: enforce `while (true)` over `for (;;)`

Hi everyone, The WebKit codebase has an inconsistent mix of `while (true)` and `for (;;)`. Given 2/3 of the usages are `while (true)` and only 1/3 is `for (;;)` from code search, I would suggest enforcing `while (true)`. I also think it is generally more explicit and readable than `for (;;)`. If everyone agrees, I’ll enforce this via webkit-style, so we can end up in a consistent place. What does everyone think? 2022 WebKit Contributors Meeting — Registration Open!

Hello WebKit Contributors, You are invited to participate in a virtual WebKit Contributors Meeting hosted online via WebEx on Wedmesday, November 9th from 1 PM to around 6 PM Pacific and Thursday, November 10th from 8 AM to around 2 PM Pacific. To attend you must be an active contributor to the WebKit open-source project. The meeting will be free of charge, and registration is open. You can register for the event on the 2022 WebKit Contributors Meeting page: https://webkit.org/meeting/ This year’s event is being organized by Jon Davis, Brian Kardell, Eric Meyer, and Jen Simmons. The event will feature presentation-led discussions of 10-40 minutes long, followed by queue-moderated discussion. There will also be a lightning talk segment if you have a topic you can present in less than 10 minutes. If you have a topic to present for discussion, please email any of the organizers, or message them on WebKit Slack. This year will include an optional social experience in the form of a game that you can choose to participate in. It’s an extra fun way to get to know folks in the community.
