A platform define for the Cocoa port?

Hi all, While working on the wx port, I've noticed there are a number of places where there are __APPLE__ defines that will conflict with the wxWidgets port because wxWidgets uses Carbon and so the Cocoa defines, native data types, etc. aren't appropriate in this case. What I was thinking is that we can add a PLATFORM(COCOA) define to Platform.h and define it when __OBJC__ and __APPLE__ are defined. Would this be an acceptable solution? This would still cause conflicts with our wxCocoa port, but unfortunately development work on that port has stalled so IMHO the conflict is not a major issue at the moment. Eventually, if we do move to support wxCocoa, we could add some __BUILDING_WXCOCOA define and check for that in Platform.h before defining KXMLCORE_PLATFORM_COCOA. Thoughts? Thanks, Kevin

Any notice on when we might see a new NetscapeMoviePlugin Sample fixed to work in Firefox? If not, any clues on what the problem was/is? Layout Test compilation on linux system

Hello, I want to execute Layout Test on a linux station. It's not necessery i've a graphical visualisation, it's just for passing this test on my linux browser (compiled with mike hemmel patch) in a buildbot automate. Someone can help me please ? Thx SebG

New textarea implementation is turned on

Hi all, The new NSView-less text controls are now turned on for textarea. Like <input type="text">, <textarea> now uses the HTML editing engine in WebKit and can now be styled with css. Try it out and let us know if you run into any problems. I've added the Bugzilla keyword "NativeTextArea", so please use that keyword when filing bugs about this new feature. drawing LF/CR/etc.

... <input type="checkbox" name="box" checked="checked" />Test <input ...> ... When I draw this page, I see a box at the end of "Test". "Test" is comming into Font::drawText() as a 5 character string, with a CR (or LF, don't remember which) at the end. In my font, that draws as a box. Is it correct that the parser didn't strip that, or convert it into a space? If so, is my port expected to strip these sorts of characters each time I measure or draw (hurting performance)? If I had complete control over all my fonts, I could wack their cmap tables to ensure that all control characters mapped to zero-width spaces, but I don't have the luxury. If I am required to handle these control characters, is there a list of exactly which the parser will pass through? thanks, mike

QMatrix and Linux

I'm turning on SVG support for Linux and have run into QMatrix. my plan is to reimplement in terms of cairo_matrix_t in my platform but I suspect this code may be changed if so what are the plans. Mike
